American Roll Form Donates Time and Supplies for United Way Day of Caring

American Roll Form was thrilled to help with the UnitedWay Day of Caring held this year on June 20th all across the country. On this one day, thousands and thousands of volunteers from businesses, government agencies, and churches gather together to give back to their communities on projects that range from park clean ups and landscaping work to general maintenance and meal preperation.united-way-arf-2

For our project, American Roll Form worked at Child Care on the Square, a childcare center in Downtown Painesville. Child Care on the Square provides education, day-care, and healthy meals to over 75 children, most from local families that live at or below the federal poverty line. American Roll Form picked this charity out of the hundreds on the local list because of the fantastic work this organization does with these kids.

Several members of the ARF management team spent the day building two 4'x10' garden beds in the playground area of the facility. The purpose of the beds is for the children to plant both flowers and vegetables to learn more about the growth cycle and eventually to incorporate some of the produce in the homemade lunches that the facility produces everyday.

In addition to the 4 hours of time, ARF also donated all of the supplies for the event, including composite wood, brackets, screws, and over 20 bags of soil for the gardens.
