American Roll Form Products Wins Supplier Sustainability Award

American Roll Form Products, a Cleveland-based, full-service metal fabricator, was honored for its measures in sustainability. The award recognizes suppliers for initiatives that complement or directly contribute to the five areas of the customer’s environmental policy: continual improvement, pollution prevention, suppliers, communication and training.

ARF has a longstanding history of sustainability that displays a commitment beyond compliance and a track record of continuous improvement. Initiatives include green operations, responsible energy and resource management, innovative waste disposal and pollution prevention—not to mention running an 80 percent recyclable process since its founding in 1960.

  • 2010: Within six months of adopting waste-stream management, ARF's classification as a Large Quantity Waste Generator was reduced to a Small Quantity Waste Generator by the Environmental Protection Agency.
  • 2011: ARF replaced lower efficiency sodium lighting with natural skylights and T8, presence-aware lighting, reducing energy usage by 70 percent and improving product quality through greater shop floor visibility.
  • 2012: ARF's internal recycling initiative reduced solid waste destined for landfills by 40 percent in the first three months.
  • 2013: Implementation of coolant filtration systems extended the usable life of ARF's largest waste-stream by 40 percent, while a partnership with Everclear allows the company to recycle coolant waste into other usable products.
  • Today: The company participates heavily in the alternative energies markets, such as solar.

“American Roll Form is proud to be recognized for our commitment to sustainability,” said Phil Misch, president of American Roll Form Products. “Partnering with like-minded organizations to produce superior products with less waste and cost is at the heart of ARF’s mission.”

ARF offers a turnkey, custom product development solution from incubation and product design, to prototyping, production and assembly. It serves customers across the United States out of its facilities in Painesville, Ohio and North Las Vegas, Nevada.
